The Faroe Islands, Sept. 23, 2023

So, only one day on the Faroe Islands but it was a wonderful day.  We did a hike across the island…they bussed our small hiking group to the other side of the island and we hiked back to town and the ship.  Very nice and dramatic scenery, and we really like the young hiking guides; lead guide, Tom from the UK, Felix orinally from Sweden and currently living in Svalbard (far northern Norwegian island group north of the Arctic Circle), and Alexis, an Argentian and aspiring actor from just outside of Buenos Aires).  We also enjoyed the town, Torshavn, which is the capital, with some nice Scandinavian architecture and a nice harbor.  The Faroe Islands are controlled by Denmark and have 50,000 inhabitants.
