Drive to the East Fjords from Husavik; Hengifoss; Sept. 13, 2023

 Drove to our stay in the East Fjords on Reydarfjordur with a stop along the way for Rjukandafoss, and a side trip to Hengifoss and the other cascades below Hengifoss.  The drive was starker scenery until we got to the the side trip to Hengifoss and then the East Fjords region.  Rjukandafoss is right on the ring road and I just happened to notice a few cars in a pullout and we “snagged” it.  Hengifoss was about ten miles off of the ring road, and definitely worth it.  Yet another magnificent Iceland waterfall.  It was a steep 3 mile RT hike to the falls, with other falls and cascades on the way up.  Staying in a large 3 bedroom home in the small town of Reydarfjordur.
