Drive to Husavik vis Trollaskagi peninsula, and Godafoss, Iceland Sept. 11, 2023

Taking another scenic route to get to our destination for the night, Husavik.  We drove the Trollaskagi peninsula, taking some scenery and Icelandic horse photos on the way around.  Stopped in Siglufjordur, home to huge herring fishing and processing center in the day…the herring factory ended in the 1960’s as I recall…that’s a photo of Donna with the “herring girls” sculpture commemorating that time.  A very picturesque town.  Through a few more one lane tunnels, then on to Akureyi, Iceland..Iceland’s “second city”. All of 18,000 people where we grocery shopped.  The on to Godafoss, a “must see” waterfall and to our cottage stay for the next two nights just outside of Husavik, Iceland.  Another memorable day and our first blue sky day.  We also saw the northern lights at around 1:30 am ( a timely bathroom break as it turned out) but alas no photo…I’d need to do a time lapse and beats me how I do that (especially at 1:30am).
