Benasque, Spain April 23, 2019

Our last stop on our five week sojourn is Benasque, Spain, a ski town in the Pyrenees near the French border.  We're pretty sure it's spectacular here, but we only get small glimpses as it rains on us most of the time we're here (It briefly snowed in town the morning we left).  Really our only time in the whole five weeks where we had sustained rain for days.  We have a really nice well equipped condo, so it's a good place to spend some time unwinding at the end of our whirlwind five weeks.  We snag a few photos to remember the place by though.  The town is basically shut down...at first we thought it was because we arrived on Easter Monday, but it turns out that many of the businesses were closed or closing since ski season is over.  Luckily there is a wonderful bakery right below us in our building that is open (he closed for the season the day we left) and we get our first nights meal there and our lunch the next day there as well.  We ate in again, and we ended up eating in a lot more on this trip than our fall trip..Donna has made some great yet simple and fairly quick meals that we both have really enjoyed.  We met Javier in the bakery our first night here, who is a PT, mountain guide, telemark skier, etc. who lived in Leadville, Colorado from 1999 - 2001, and attended Colorado Mountain College.  One of his best friends is a realtor with Remax in Boulder.  It is indeed a small world.
