Ptuj, Slovenia Sept 28, 2018
We left Dubrovnik, and drove about half way to Prague staying overnight at a small inn in Ptuj, Slovenia. We got there around 5 PM, checked in, and walked down to the amadeus restaurant, about a ten minute walk down the hill from the Panorama Inn where we are staying. A very nice meal at a reasonable price. The proprietor is a gregarious lady with a chain smoking husband. The inn sits on a big hill overlooking the town, which has roots back to the stone age (I think Fred and Wilma Flinstone lived there), and had 40,000 people in Roman times (it's 10,000 now). A nice stop on the way back. The next day we drove another 7 hours to Prague, and the Holiday Inn at the airport for our three flight trip home. Travelocity messed me up on what flights we have back, and I have had to do a bit of juggling figuring it all out, but hopefully it will all come together tomorrow...we'll see. Here's Ptuj.
