Plitvice National Park NP, Croatia Sept. 17, 2018

Gorgeous waterfall park that has crowds that almost put Old Faithful in Yellowstone Park on a peak day to shame.   We left Pula around 10:40 AM, and drive to Plitvice NP and started hiking the lower loop around 3:20 PM.  Very crowded for the first hour to hour and a half, then the crowds thinned out and by the end of our time there which was a little after 7 PM, which was the closing time, there were very few cars left in the parking lot (which had thousands of cars when we arrived).  Like I told our hostess way back in Cesky Krumlov; you come to Europe for all the ancient history, buildings, etc....if you want a wilderness experience, you head to North America; i.e. the western United States or most of Canada.  But in spite of the crowds we're glad we went there.  Got to our small inn just before check in ended, got settled and then drove the 3.5 km back to the park and a nice dinner at a local and good restaurant which was located right at Entrance 1, where we parked.

Notice the mass of humanity on the boardwalk - the beginning of our time at Plitvice NP
