Perito Moreno Glacier walk March 21, 2018, Argentina Patagonia

About a ten hour excursion today.  A bus picked us up (with many other folks on numerous other stops) for a 1.5 hour drive out to the Perito Moreno glacier in Parques Nacional Los Glaciares.  We took a short boat ride across to the glacier where we donned crampons and walked for about 2.5 hours on the glacier, including going inside an ice cave, followed by a visit to a very large multi level viewing area, and then the bus ride back to El Calafate.  A really great experience.  Much closer encounter with a glacier than in the Arctic (although the Arctic trip was truly epic).  Met a family from Willmette with three kids  - had a nice chat.  A long but wonderful and quite spectacular day as they all have been since we reached Patagonia.
