Arrival Day Chile & Ecocamp, Torres del Paine March 22, 2018

We bid farewell to Argentina and head into Chile.  We take a public bus (very modern)..most of our fellow passengers are with a G adventure (similar to Intrepid tours that we used in Vietnam and Cambodia..(this group is 90 percent twenty somethings with a couple of middle aged men thrown in) tour of Patagonia).  The border crossing in pretty smooth with no hiccups...although Brad has another mishap today...he lost his camera..must have fallen out of his pocket somewhere along the way.  We arrive in Puerto Notales around 2 or so, have a late lunch with Ed and Carol from the bay area of CA (ok folks, but wine snobs, and they seemed less than thrilled to be traveling with us out to Ecocamp, although they were fellow Trump "haters", which was a plus.  Ecocamp drove us out to Torres Del Paine in one of their vans, it was raining off and on on the way out, and we arrived around 6 or so.  Brad and I have a "standard dome", which has a hobbit like door entrance, and we are conveniently located (old males like to have a short walk to the toilet at 3 AM) right next to the common toilet and shower facilities for us "standard domers". We don't have heat (the suite domes have wood and propane heaters, and I think cost in excess of $500/night!...needless to say Ed and Carol were in a suite), but it's a really neat little complex, well organized, fantastic staff, fabulous food, etc.  We have our welcome drink and get the low down on the next days activities and pick an excursion.
