Final killer hike in Torres Del Paine - Tower View hike March 25, 2018
Brad and I decided to split up our last day in Torres Del Paine. He did the two lookout hike/stroll and I did the straight up Tower View hike. First my hike. A group of around 8 plus two guides, Valentina and Ricardo. Ahmet, his wife, and their two children Krishna and Arya (financial folks from India a long time ago, now living in NYC); Sahid and Gabby (two doctors living in North Carolina..she was originally from Mexico, he was born and raised in Florida), and Tiffany, my new found 26 year old friend, a pharmacist from San Francisco.
The hike was 3.4 miles one-way to the first summit view point and 3100 feet of elevation gain...so quite steep. The next oldest person on the hike was Ahmet's wife who was 47. Ferocious winds again...most of us reached the first summit, but the winds were even stronger than our first hike in Argentinian Patagonia. I literally got blown over and did one somersault at the top (going for a photo of me at top taken by Tiffany...perhaps not the best decision, but other than a minor scratch on my right leg, I was fine (it was but a flesh wound). You can see the iconic lake/Towers photo op from the top (actually way above the site that the Tower base hike goes), but we had to turn around after the first summit, it was pretty dicey even to get to the first summit...a very strenuous but exhilarating hike!

This hike looks absolutely spectacular! Wish someone would have documented your back somersault. ;)
