Travel from Grand Pre Nova Scotia to Saint Martins, New Brunswick October 14, 2019
Took the slow scenic route to Truro before getting on the TransCanada Highway for most of the way to our next one night destination, Saint Martin's New Brunswick. It's the Canadian Thanksgiving Day and Saint Martin's is only 275 people, but we luck out and the local lobster roll, fish and chips, burger joint with outside picnic seating is open (all the other restaurants are closed) and we have a surprisingly good fish and chips and seafood chowder there. Our bob is quite "rustic"...i.e. it's kind of a run down house with some rooms and a shared bathroom. I knew about the shared bath and also knew it was only for one night...the photos on the internet showed a much nicer house, but the owner Cameron and his partner are super friendly and make us feel right at home and the sheets are clean, so it's all good; and it's very inexpensive. Saw lots of amazing fall colors most of the day, but wasn't able to stop too often as we had a ways to go today. Snagged a few good ones though.
