Louisborg, Nova Scotia Oct. 3, 2019

Decided to pack a lot in today as it's a decent day of weather and it's supposed to go back to gray and misty rain tomorrow.  So after leaving Chambers Bed and Breakfast in North Sydney (which we both really liked), we headed out to the Fortess of Louisborg, a recreation of a French settlement of the first half of the 1700's.  It was attacked several times over 3 or 4 decades and the British finally defeated the French in 1758.  We read that the French had decided to pour most of their resources into Europe rather than their colonies and that coupled with increasing British strength made North America mostly British rather than French.  It's shoulder season so reduced entry, but only a few of the living history folks around compared to numerous reenactors during the summer season.  It was well done and we we're glad we made the detour to take it in.
