Living the island life, Quadra Island 4: Nugedzi Lake hike, more evening beach pics

Back to hiking in our outdoor adventure carousel. Nugedzi Lake trail is recommended by Anne - you can make a loop out of the trail (and we do) by parking one car on Granite road and the other at the Nugedzi Lake trailhead, a short car shuttle. This is a great trail, part of which goes through old growth forest. Nugedzi Lake (actually two lakes) is very nice, and of course, Nic goes for a swim - he shows off his various swimming strokes (he was on his high school swim team). Another great picnic lunch by Donna, and our only complaint is the crowds (NOT!). We see no one all day - we have the trail and lake to ourselves, and this is July and the peak of tourist season. Have I mentioned how much I like Quadra Island!

We let Nic and Anna go down to Smiths Road beach by themselves for some alone time - and Anna snaps some great photos as always at this beautiful spot.
