Onahu trail RMNP 2-23-2018

There is a loop trail in RMNP that I have wanted to do that links the Onahu trail with the Green Man trail and the upper Tonahutu trail.  I did the Green Mountain trail a few days ago up to Big Meadow and up the Tonahutu trail a short ways until the trail ended (i.e. no one had gone any further and to continue on meant slogan through knee deep snow, trying to find widely spaced trail markers).  This time I (we, Brad is up visiting for a few days) tried starting at the other end of the loop at the Onahu trailhead.  We almost made it to the end of the Onahu trail to where it connects with the Tonahutu trail, but alas the trail just ended again.  At least we made it to the end of a large meadow which was a great place to have lunch before heading back down.  The Onahu trail is fairly steep and up and down in a few places but the woods are more open than Green Mountain trail and we both really liked the trail.
