Salt Spring Island 2: Kayaking, Fulford Harbor to Boathouse, & Beddis beach to Ruckle Prov. Park

As I indicated earlier, I have purchased a new kayak - a Novus Composite Quest 17 - sight unseen. The purchase has turned out very well - it's a beautiful boat and I couldn't be happier. So on Monday and Tuesday I do back to back kayaking days - out on the water about 4.5 hours each day. While I'm out on the water, Donna rides her bike to Fulford Harbor, the small village at our end of the island, and knocks around various shops. And then on the second day she begins to visit the various studios across the island. Salt Spring Island is a haven for artists and there are many artists studios scattered all across Salt Spring. There are also a large number of farm stands everywhere too.

The first day kayaking, I tour Fulford Harbor and the south part of Salt Spring Island around to our boathouse accommodation . The second day (this is Canada Day; July 1st, so it as crowded as it ever gets in these parts - still not so crowded by back home standards) I start at Beddis Beach and go south and around Ruckle Provincial Park (we will hike the entire coastline of this park later in our time on the island). As always - magical days out on the water.
