Kootenay drive thru, Banff, Lake Louise hike

Leaving Glacier National Park behind, we head north into Canada, driving through Kootenay National Park on the way to Banff, Alberta.  A one nights stay at a wonderful B&B, the Banff Avenue  B&B, with Connie, a retired teacher the hostess, and Jamie, her partner who divides his time between Banff, and Washington DC, where he still maintains a home.  The next day, we head to the iconic Lake Louise, and decide to do an 8 mile RT hike, called 6 Glacier plain view; i.e. you can plainly see 6 different glaciers on the hike.  A somewhat stormy day, and we got rained on for a little while - also fairly popular as Lake Louise is I would guess the biggest tourist draw in Banff National Park - but with all that said, still a wonderful hike.  At 4 miles in (and this is a mountain hike, crossing several small snowfields even in late June) there is a tea house, that has been run by the same family for decades.  We finish the hike late that afternoon, and drive up to Jasper thru awe inspiring scenery (more on that in the net post, as we come back this way tomorrow).
