Twillingate, Newfoundland Sept 2019

Leaving Kings Point, we drove around 4 hours to our next destination, Twillingate.  Twillingate is the self proclaimed iceberg capital of Newfoundland - but not at this time of the year.  The Berg's are gone now.  But even without icebergs, Twillingate is a charming and beautiful destination.  We are staying right on the water in town, in a house that is over one hundred years old...and was owned by Ches until he died at 91, three years ago...so he was born the same year as my Dad.  Kevin, the youngest of his 12 children now owns the house and has turned it into an airbnb rental.  This place wouldn't work for Brad as it has 6 foot ceilings.  It's amazing to think that 14 people lived in this house at one time...it's not very big., but perfect for us.   We made it out to Lookout point and lighthouse after arriving and grabbed some harbor and sunset photos too.  It rained the next morning, but stopped in the afternoon and turned windy again, but nice temps made for a great afternoon of hiking just a couple of miles from our place at French Beach and head.  Really a beautiful hike.  So another quick but great stop on our tour of Newfoundland.
