In Chhulemu

The rhythm of our days in Chhulemu:  7 AM tea and wash water brought to our tent door; breakfast in the eating tent; head out to the work sites; juice break mid morning; lunch break; head back to the sites (or occasionally some folks went to another village about 3 miles away where they had internet (sometimes); dinner, and bed.  A few sprinkles during our stay but otherwise the rain we experienced on the way in stopped.  I turned 63 in Chhulemu, and was greeted to a spectacular view  - a blue sky view of the Himalayas - they baked a cake for me too that night.  The highlight of my work experience was the "concrete conga line".  The concrete was mixed by hand (shovel) by three fellow volunteers (Michael, Mike and Doug and a few sherpas; backbreaking work) and some of the rest of us formed a line to pass the concrete down the line to the end where it was placed, and a second line to pass back the empty pans to be refilled with concrete to be passed on down the line etc...
