2nd day of Trek into Chhulemu; Taksindu

Breakfast and we're off on day two of our trek into Chhulemu.  We climb up to a pass, and then down to Taksindu - a small Nepalese village and home to a Buddhist monastery.  The monks hold a ceremony for us and we receive the first of many scarves as a gift.  We stroll around Taksindu and take in the sights and the clouds break for a moment and we can see higher peaks of the Himalayas briefly.  Don Moore announces that it is only a twenty minute hike down to Chhelemu (it takes an hour and a quarter - Don (the head of the non-profit) is a good man, but distance, time and trail steepness descriptions are not his strong suit).  We do eventually arrive to Chhelmu and a lovely greeting sign made of flowers.  This is to be our home for the next 6 days or so.  Donna and I are in the first of 8 tents all in a row on the hillside.  The view from our tent is quite dramatic.  The tent is roomy and we have a great sleeping pad provided.  Toilet facilities are a bit primitive (a hole dug in the ground, with a shelter set around it for privacy), and we have small enclosures with sun showers that later in the week the Sherpas fill with hot water.  A large tent for eating, and we are good to go.
