New England Fall - Williamstown, MA: More great fall colors and It's a small world!

It's a short drive from Manchester, Vermont to Williamstown, Massachusetts, which is tucked in the northwest corner of MA in the Berkshire Hills.  Amy and Chris (both are writers) are our airbnb hosts and they have a wonderful private suite that is all ours for our three nights.  There were great walks just up their road and up another local road only a mile away.  The Berkshire Hills are ablaze with fall colors, and although we don't see a lot of sun, it is incredibly beautiful all the same.  Williamstown is the home to Williams College, a very prestigious (and pricey - $51,500/year!) liberal arts college - a lovely small New England college town.

One of the themes of this trip has been meeting people with Boulder, CO connections - and yes Amy and Chris lived in Boulder for about 6 years.  But even more amazing is that Donna figured out that one of their two daughters knows and actually lived (in a dorm type setting in Copenhagen) with Donna's nephew Gus Griffin.  Amazing!  Then she discovered that one of Colin's best friends in his younger years, Dylan Luke, has been the technical set director for the summer theater in Williamstown the last three years.

A small world indeed!

Leaving Williamstown, we stopped at Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Symphony to walk the grounds, and in Stockbridge, MA (Norman Rockwell's home after Arlington, VT, site of the original Alice's restaurant (Arlo Guthrie song), Edith Wharton's home, etc...

Let's see some more gorgeous fall colors.
