Salt Spring Island July 2022

 After our fabulous 2 weeks with Anna, Nic and Aria on Quadra Island we headed back to the boathouse on Salt Spring Island for a week.  The boathouse now has a full size refrigerator and a 4 burner stove with oven, and new cushions and bedding.  All wonderful improvements.  You can’t beat the boathouse location for peace and quiet and we really love the proprietors, Harold and Sabine.  Harold and Sabine are 78 and 79, so not sure how many more years they will be renting this out..we want to come back every summer and stay a week or two until they decide to stop renting.  Salt Spring was great as always, 1 Don and Donna kayak, 2 solo Don kayaks, a great hike at Ruckle Provincial PArk, knocking around the island together, a. Stop at the Salt Spring winery, spotting orcas briefly right off of the boathouse…all were among the highlights of our too short week there.  Afterwards we went to Duncan and visited Pip and Derrick for a day and a half..celebrating Derrick’s 84th birthday at the Genoa Bay cafe.  We love island life in coastal BC in the summer!
