San Rafael Swell with Donna and Brad, December 2021

 Brad put together a trip to the San Rafael Swell and Capitol Reef NP for December and asked if we would like to join him, which we were able to do.  It was Donna’s first time hiking in the swell, and she loved it.  We only had one day hiking, but got in two hikes, the Black Dragon Wash (a new one for me) and Crack Canyon.  Overcast skies, highs in the low 40’s and rain the day we drove to Capitol Reef, but still a really great time.  Brad found a new place to stay in Green River, which was great…the River Rock Inn.  Green River is a pretty depressed town but our lodging was wonderful, and we had two good dinners out, so we’d definitely return.  Capitol Reef up next.
