February in Grand County, CO
By the end of February I have volunteered 16 days with the NSCD, finishing up the month with 4 days in a row skiing with Extreme Mobility, a group of Visually Impaired folks that come up from all over the country. Got a lot of cross country skiing and snowshoeing in too. I think I'm up to al least twenty days in most of the trails on the west side of RMNP and in the Fraser Experimental Forest. Brad joined on for several days of snowshoeing too. We had several delicious Thai, and Indian meals that he either brought or made when he was up. Great snow this year. The photo of Brad with a young woman was taken on the Colorado River Headwaters Trail. Her name is Ana Zirner, and she is a German Blogger (AnasWays), adventurer, former assistant movie and theatre director, etc. (her father is an American, her mother is German and she grew up in Germany...she is a dual citizen; her parents are both actors). We met her on the first day of a three month trip down the Colorado River starting at the headwaters, which are in RMNP...I've been there several times now...Donna and I snowshoed to the start last year).
