Salt Spring Island second week; Don and Donna July 7-14, 2018

We bid farewell to Nic, Anna, Aria and Sarah...tears were shed.  It was such a wonderful time with everyone, and I don't think there is a grandmother on the planet that has a better relationship than Donna has with Aria.  They can't get enough of each other.

Donna and I got out and paddled three times together and I got out twice solo paddling.  Beddis Beach launch and out to the Channel Islands for some seal watching; Hudson Pt. launch and out to Wallace Island...hiked the entire length of the island and had a great lunch at the southern point; met a 78 year old man from Sidney who lives on his boat every summer knocking around the inside passage area with his 68 year old second wife; and a mother Hudson Point launch out to Wallce Island and paddle along the entire Wallace Island shore down to Secretary Islands and then back.  Solo paddles out to Portland (Princess Margaret) Island (seals, otters, eagles - long ways 11 mile paddle, but wonderful); and Fulford harbor and southern shoreline both ways of SSI.

We also had a wonderful day hiking in Ruckle Provincial Park, and out to Burgoyne Bay one evening, went up to North End Farm, Southey Point, Kizmit Coffee house,  a garage sale at a house that was for sale where we visited with the school teacher wife and elecrtonics husband about along with relaxing mornings and evenings at the Boathouse.  Love the island life.  None of this area is even remotely affordable to purchase a home  (the 3 acre parcel next to Harold and Sabine is for sale for $945,000..their property is worth 2 - 3 million or more!).  so renting the boathouse for $750K CDN a week on a 2 million dollar plus property seems like a mighty fine way to go!
