Comox BC July 14-21, 2018

Our second time to Comox and the surrounding area, and it confirmed how much we love it here.  It's a big retirement area for Canadians and is growing, but the whole Comox Valley is still only 64,000 people and Comox is only 14,000 people and feels even smaller.  All the amenities of big city living in a beautiful tidy package.  Our wonderful rental is going away unfortunately.  Jo (the owner) told us right after we go there that she had sold her home and had delayed the closing on the house so that we could still come - we were her very last airbnb guests.  Jo's place was in a great location, was private, spotless and had all sorts of wonderful touches - she was a great hostess.  Fortunately she has a friend who has started her own airbnb and we toured it before we left, and the place was wonderful.

We explored the area a bit more this time, as we went hiking at Seal Bay Nature Park (wonderful), hiked at Elk Falls Provincial Park (beautiful), went to Miracle Beach, Comox Lake and Cumberland. We did our evening walk to the Spit every night except one, and that night we went for a sunset paddle in the kayak from the spit.

If we were Canadian, Comox would be very high on our list to retire and move to.
