Torino Take 3 - kayaking

We did manage to get one day of kayaking in...an overcast day, Anna, Nic and I went while Donna stayed with Aria - a Win-Win.  We kayaked across the Tofino inlet and up into a small part of Clayquot Sound...close to slack tide when we crossed, but suddenly there were several float planes landing and several boats crossing, which made for an exciting crossing.  One of the boats was an RCMP boat, and I think it may have had something to do with the fact that the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau was in Tofino that day (we found this out later).  A great day exploring, with a too exciting finish as the ebb tidal currents were quite strong crossing the inlet on the way back and I narrowly averted disaster  - Anna and Nic performed admirably, however.  Many of the photos from our kayaking day are on the Tofino day2 post.  I think Anna and Nic came away with another favorite place in coastal BC.  We celebrated Donna's birthday in Tofino one day early with cheesecake on Chesterman Beach at sunset.  The next day, we left Tofino and drove to stay one night with Pip and Derrick in Cowichan Bay.  They had not seen Anna since she was a little girl (now she's a mother to her own little beautiful girl)
