Quadra Island - More fun, gourmet eating, hiking

When we are with Nic and Anna gourmet eating prepared by Nic and Donna is always part of the experience.  We were disappointed to find out that the First Nation campsite was not selling scallops this year (a red tide diminished the stock?) but we still had a dinner of Nic's gourmet burgers, a fantastic beer can grilled chicken with special preparation by Nic, delicious chicken fajitas by Donna, some great egg breakfasts prepared by Anna and Nic, and a number of other great meals that my feeble mind already cannot recall.

We hiked the Kay Dubois trail down at the end of Smith Road one day and did a hike into Newton Lake where Nic took a long swim with about 6 other folks who arrived at the lunch rock at the same time we did (a fun group from Vancouver area that were sailing, and had hiked in from Wiatt Bay from their boat).  A picnic out at Rebecca Spit was on the agenda (a beautiful spot with a protected harbor (Drew Harbor) and great views of the surrounding islands and coast mountains of mainland BC.  A number of these photos as is the case for all of my posts that include Anna were taken by Anna Heinz @mappinglightphotography.
