County Cork Drive By
April 3, 2013
Morning brings our goodbyes to Mary, John, and Bridgett with
some suggestions from Mary on what we might take in on a County Cork drive by,
on the way (well, really out of the way) to Kilkenny.
We drive through beautiful Killarney National Park one last
time, and head to Kenmare, a pretty seaside village / market town (yes, we are
still in County Kerry, but not for long), where I run around and take a few
photos and Donna shops for a short while.
We head to the Beara Peninsula where we drive along the western side of
the peninsula, then cross over Healy Pass to the eastern side. Healy Pass in particular was a beautiful
drive, typical 1.5 lane road. We drive along the southern County Cork coast
and eventually out to a small picturesque burg, Glandore. We’re headed to Kinsale, but we run out of
time, so we get on the M8, and head to Kilkenny, and our last B&B, Newlands
Lodge.
