Mt. Evans Road in Winter

It's March, statistically the snowiest month in Colorado, but not so much this year - it's been over the top balmy here, as it has all across the US apparently.  We decide to try snowshoeing up the Mt. Evans Road from Echo Lake on a early March day (March 9th to be exact).  We start out snowshoeing, but abandon the snowshoes part way up and hike the rest of the way to an avalanche chute across the road.  It's nice to be on this road in the winter, beautiful and quiet.  Here are a few pictures from our day.
