May visit to Sycamore with Kirsten
Time for my spring time visit to Sycamore, IL to visit sister Denise, and Kirsten joined me again as she did a year ago. Sickness has unfortunately been a theme lately for trips, and Kirsten caught what Donna and I caught in SLC, so she started out. Sick when we arrived, and then alas Denise caught it at the end of our time there. We came, we saw, we infected. In spite of that, enjoyed our time there as always, and accomplished a number of house related tasks while there. Pat and Mark came out for the day, and we did a number of our usual walks. In a nod to my blood clot that developed in November/December of last year, for the first time in forever, I did not drive straight through, staying in Stuart, Iowa on the way there, and Kearney, NE on the way home. We also stopped at the Des Moines Botanic Gardens, which we could visit for free, due to our Denver Botanic Gardens membership. A very nice break in driving home.
