Beautiful new bike, beautiful fall day, beautiful wife

So we are now about a year out from Donna's fateful fall off of the washing machine, resulting in her shoulder injury, a 6 month recovery, wearing a sling for a few months on our trip to NZ/Fiji last November, and postponing purchasing a new bike (wearing a sling because of a painful shoulder injury is not conducive to bike shopping).

So now it is October (writing this in November, but bike shopping was in October), and it is time to go bike shopping.  Visits to four bike stores, trying as many bikes results in a new bike purchase at Wheatridge Cyclery (great place, highly recommend) of a Specialized Vita Comp, a hybrid bike designed specifically for women.  A beautiful bike.

October saw some snow in Denver, but also many beautiful fall days, so Donna and I took off on a 20 mile bike ride along the South Platte River trail, Lees Gulch trail, Highline Canal trail, C-470 trail loop. I took these pics on that ride.

A beautiful new bike, a beautiful fall day in Colorado, and a beautiful wife.  (and retired of course) Life is good.

  1. So glad to hear that Donna is feeling better, and that you've been enjoying this beautiful fall.

We'd love to get together for dinner some time, because we'd enjoy hearing your insights on living the good (retired) life.
