Appleton, WI October 13-14

Our airbnb host in Appleton, Lucien,  is a Buddhist Monk who looks like a Green Bay Packer fan.  We have his entire house to ourselves (maybe 3000 square feet).  Divorced, 4 year old daughter, very nice guy.  The house sits above the Fox River, and is a block from the Lawrence University campus, which we explore.  We visit with Randy and Lynn (the newlyweds) in Neenah Friday evening, and go out to a marathon 3.5 hour dinner with Reany, Lynn, Susan and Jim in Green Bay.  We also take in the Appleton Farmers Market which is just blocks away and one of the best we've been to.  A good pizza meal and the Arch Stoneway brewpub also close by our first night in Appleton.  On Sunday we pack up and head to Minneapoiis, where I drop Donna off to fly back to Denver and I head back up north to Detroit Lakes, to pick up my canoe before Jeff and I head over to Bemidji and then on to Ely and the BWCA.
