Snowshoeing and Cross-country skiing "near" home

After volunteering my ten days with the NSCD, but before my 2.5 week IL/FL trip I cross-country skied two days, one day at North Rock Creek trail in Summit County, and the Mitchell Loop trail at Tennessee Pass near Leadville.  Both were blue sky days....it basically didn't snow almost all of February and was very balmy in Denver with highs routinely in the 60's and 70's (basically almost as warm as it was for me all the way down in Fort Myers, Florida).  In Mid March the weather changed and the Colorado mountains got dumped on, 2 - 3 feet of snow at most ski areas in just a few days.  That was when I went snowshoeing twice, once up Abyss Lake trail in the Mt. Evans Wilderness, and once at Bakerville.  Broke trail much of the day on my Baskerville outing, lots of work but beautiful. A few photos.
